Please Take Precautions to Prevent the Spread of COVID

Dear MIS Community,

I wanted to share that recently there have been an increasing number of cases being reported to us within the MIS school community of people either testing positive for COVID or being close contacts of others. Any members of the MIS school community who are deemed to be close contacts will be notified either by the school or local health authorities and be asked to quarantine at home. We ask that you are sensitive and respect the confidentiality and privacy of those affected.

Should anyone in your family be diagnosed with COVID or deemed to be a close contact, please notify the school immediately, stay at home as directed by local health authorities, and update the school with any changes to your situation.

Per our school’s contagious diseases policy, at any given time should 20% of a given class have a contagious disease (e.g. influenza, norovirus, or coronavirus), that class will be closed and distance learning will be provided via Seesaw. Obviously, we want to keep students learning on campus as this is what is best for them academically and social-emotionally, as well as for parents and staff.

Therefore, I ask that all members in our school community take the utmost of care in preventing the spread of what we know is a particularly infectious variant. Please follow the guidance found in our Operational Protocols (see these below) as well as from local authorities.

Mr. Citrano
Head of School
