MIS Re-Opening on Monday, June 1st with New Protocols

Dear MIS Community,

Per the guidance from Chiba City, MIS will be re-opening for all students on Monday, June 1st for regular school hours. In order to provide social distancing and other measures, the way we operate will look different for students and staff. As you can imagine, the large number of protocols necessary to make this happen is quite large. We ask for your patience and understanding as we work these out. We hope to communicate these to you early next week, and ask that you do not call the office with questions until you have received the updated, detailed information.

MIS will not have a school holiday on Monday, May 25th (as we are not holding the Bazaar this coming weekend). Distance learning via Seesaw and Zoom will continue up to Wednesday, May 27th. On Thursday, May 28th and Friday, May 29th, teachers will receive training on the new protocols, prepare their classrooms and materials for the remainder of the term, and collaborate with their peers to share information about students. This time will be invaluable to a successful start to teaching back on campus.

I again thank you for your support and understanding as we make yet another transition during this unprecedented time.

Mr. Citrano
